Isolde Cobeț was born in 1962 in Bacău, she graduated from the "Nikolaus Lenau" High School in Timișoara in 1980, and then attended the German Department of the Timișoara Philology. Until 1988 she worked as a teacher and in 1989 she became an actress at the German State Theatre in Timișoara. From 1992 to 1996 she studied Performing Arts - Acting in German at the Faculty of Music and Theatre of the West University of Timișoara.
From her numerous appearances on the stage of the German State Theatre in Timișoara we remember the following performances and roles: Hänsel and Gretel by the Brothers Grimm as the Mother; The Snow Queen by Yevgeny Schwarz as the Grandmother; The Theatre by Pascal Rambert as Julia; The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling as Winifred; A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare as Philostratus.
She has collaborated with important directors Frieder Lorenz, Alexander Hausvater, Clemens Bechtel, Radu-Alexandru Nica, Victor Ioan Frunză, Andreas Poppe, Martin Baucks, Kristóf Szabó, Niky Wolcz.
Since 1998 she has been active in the field of German-language school and youth theatre. She leads the NiL theatre group of the "Nikolaus Lenau" High School in Timișoara. With this group she has staged numerous performances such as Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, The Island by Mihail Sebastian, Dear Elena Sergheevna by Ludmila Rasumovskaia, Always ultra by C. Schafer, etc., which have been repeatedly awarded at school theatre festivals.
In 2000 she was artistic director of the School Theatre Festival "Babylon-Europa trifft sich" in Bayreuth (Germany), and since 2000 she has been involved in the organization of the "International Festival of German-Speaking School and Youth Theatre". She regularly conducts workshops at school theatre festivals and meetings in Romania, Germany, Hungary and Croatia.
