Following the success recorder with the spring premiere of the musical-fairytale “The Jungle Book” based on Rudyard Kipling, there will be supplementary performances in the following weeks as follows:

Thursday, the 1st of June 2017, 11 and 18 o’clock

Saturday, the 3rd of June 2017, 18 o’clock

Sunday, the 4th of June 2017, 11 and 18 o’clock

Monday, the 12th of June 2017, 19:30 o’clock

Tuesday, the 13th of June 2017, 19:30 o’clock.

The performances will be held in the Hall of the German State Theater (GSTT) and features subtitling in Romanian.

The show directed and choreographed by Răzvan Mazilu benefits from the scenography created by Dragoș Buhagiar, with the participation of Ioana Popescu, and the video creation is by Andrei Cozlac. The numerous cast features almost all of the GSTT actors, along with three child-actors as well as eight ballet dancers from the National Romanian Opera Timisoara.

“The Jungle Book” evokes the story of the man-cub Mowgli, who was raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. His friends, the wise Bagheera and the fun bear Baloo warn Mowgli of the danger lurking: Shere Khan the tiger is back. Despite Mowgli’s desire to continue living in the jungle, Bagheera and Baloo plan to take him to nearby village. A road filled with perils follows, where Mowgli is forced to face Louie, the King of the monkeys and the sly snake Kaa. The musical speaks in a charming way, both to children and adults, about friendship, love, loyalty and the spirit of sacrifice. The show won’t miss the hits from the widely known animation, such as The Bare Necessities and I wanna be like you.
