wanna be like you. The author of the show, Răzvan Mazilu, is at his
second collaboration with the GSTT, after the renowned musical „Cabaret” was
set on stage in February 2014. The set design and costumes for the new
production are done by Dragoș Buhagiar,
with the participation of Ioana Popescu.
Video creation is by Andrei Cozlac,

Alexei
Țurcan, and musical training is conducted by Roxana Ardeleanu. The famous
Baloo and Bagheera roles are played by actors Harald Weisz, respectively Daniela
Török. With a vast distribution
featuring almost all of the cast of GSTT, as well as three child-actors, and eight
ballet dancers from the Romanian National Opera Timisoara.
Dancer, choreographer and director Răzvan
Mazilu popularized contemporary dance and musical on the Romanian stages,
approaching various styles, from theater and dance, from musical to tango, from
cabaret to classics. He was awarded, among others, the
interpretation Award of the National Opera of Paris at the International Ballet
Competition in 1996, the Order of Cultural Merit ranked as Knight, awarded by
the President of Romania in 2004 and the Special UNITER Award for Choreography
in 2007.
„The Jungle Book” evokes the story of
the man cub Mowgli, who was raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. His friends,
the wise panther Bagheera and the fun bear Baloo warn Mowgli of the danger
lurking: Shere Khan the tiger is back arround those parts of the jungle.
Despite Mowgli’s wish to continue living in the jungle, Bagheera and Baloo plan
to take him to a nearby village. A road filled with perrils await them, where
Mowgli has to confront Louie, the King of the monkeys, as well as the cunning
snake Kaa. The musical directed by Răzvan Mazilu, with the colorful scenography
by Dragoș Buhagiar, speaks in a charming manner to children and adults alike
about friendship, love, loyalty and the spirit of sacrifice.
