Following the resignation of Lucian Vărșăndan as Manager of the German State Theatre Timișoara (GSTT), the institution’s interim management was formally installed today, in the presence of the Mayor of Timișoara, Dominic Fritz. As of September 1, 2026, Laurence Rippel will take over as Interim Manager of the TGST, pursuant to an order issued by the Mayor of Timișoara.
At the event, remarks were delivered by Dominic Fritz, Lucian Vărșăndan, and Laurence Rippel. On this occasion, Lucian Vărșăndan expressed his gratitude to the entire theatre staff for the outstanding collaboration throughout his 15-year tenure, as well as to the funding authority. In turn, Mayor Dominic Fritz praised Lucian Vărșăndan’s work and congratulated the team on the achievements attained during his tenure. Laurence Rippel thanked the institution for the trust placed in him, stating that he would do everything in his power to ensure the continuity of the institution’s artistic and administrative activities.
