Electra, a show directed by Bocsárdi László is the first premiere of the German State Theatre Timișoara (GSTT) in 2015 and will take place

After staging the play The Misunderstanding by Albert Camus in 2012, Bocsárdi László is now at his second collaboration with GSTT.
Two of the youngest actors of GSTT, Isa Berger and Harald Weisz are playing the roles of Electra and Orestes, the cast being completed by Konstanting Keidel, Ida Jarcsek-Gaza and Radu Vulpe. The show Electra is based on a rewriting of the Greek tragedies by Euripides and Aeschylus performed by the stage version signed by Benedek Zsolt, who also created the dramaturgy of the production. The German translation is signed by Christina Kunze. The décor of the show is signed by Bartha József and costumes by Kiss Zsuzsanna, with music composed by Boros Csaba.
Bocsárdi László, one of the most significant theatre creators in Romania, has staged shows throughout time in the main theatres in the country and in Hungary. Since 2005, he has been the general manager of the Tamási Áron Theatre in Sfântu Gheorghe. He has been nominated numerous times for the UNITER awards, receiving two UNITER awards for direction in 2012 and 2014. His shows have been presented in festivals in Germany, Hungary and Poland. Very famous stage designer, Bartha József has created in the past 20 years over 80 stage designs in theatres in Romania, Hungary and Serbia; he has held many individual and group exhibitions. He has been nominated numerous times for the UNITER awards, receiveing the UNITER award for stage design in 2014.
The rewriting of the tragedy Electra is based on the main motifs in Euripides and Aeschylus' famous writings: murder, revenge, betrayal, and love. This modern adaptation directed by Bocsárdi László brings forward the obsession of revenge in the light of an all-consuming passion.. Agamemnon is killed by his wife, Clytemnestra, and her lover, Aegisthus. The two siblings, Electra and Orestes, wish to avenge their father's death and their plan brings with it a series of complications and plot twists.
