We congratulate our colleague, actress Ioana Iacob, on her nomination at the 2026 edition of the Romanian Theatre Union (UNITER) Awards, in the category Best Supporting Actress. The nomination comes for her portrayal of Mariedl in the production Girlbosses by Werner Schwab, directed by Irisz Kovacs, with set design by Réka Oláh.
Ioana Iacob has been a member of the TGST ensemble since 2002. In recent seasons, audiences have admired her in productions such as Penthesilea. A Requiem by Nino Haratischwili in the title role; The Dragon by Evgeny Schwarz as the Dragon; Humans. For Sale by Carmen Lidia Vidu; The Cherry Orchard by A. P. Chekhov, where she plays Lyubov Andreevna Ranevskaya; A Midsummer Night’s Dream after William Shakespeare as Helena; Lysistrata 3.0 after Aristophanes in a leading role; TSCHICK. Why We Took the Car by Wolfgang Herrndorf as the Mother; The Theatre by Pascal Rambert as Sofia; and, of course, in Girlbosses.
Ioana Iacob has appeared in numerous film productions in Romania and abroad, collaborating with directors such as Radu Jude, Christoph Hochhäusler, Radu Gabrea, Natalia Sinelnikova, and Andreas Kleinert. The films in which she has performed have been screened in the selections of major international film festivals.
