The stage adaptation is created by Enikő Blénessy, in collaboration with Deutsche Bühne Ungarn in Szekszárd and the German Section of the “Radu Stanca” National Theatre in Sibiu.

The project is artistically coordinated by Clemens Bechtel, director and artistic director of the German State Theatre Timișoara.

Synopsis

The German State Theatre Timișoara (GSTT) presents a new project dedicated to its youngest audiences: “The Tricked Wolf”, a pocket theatre performance inspired by a traditional Transylvanian folktale.

Designed for children who are learning German, the performance brings theatre closer to them by being presented directly in kindergartens and primary schools.

At the heart of the story are two fairies, Fimi (Enikő Blénessy) and Sibi (Aida Olaru), who are very good friends but find themselves arguing just before the performance begins: who will play the wolf? Once this dilemma is resolved, the story can …

The German State Theatre Timișoara (GSTT) presents a new project dedicated to its youngest audiences: “The Tricked Wolf”, a pocket theatre performance inspired by a traditional Transylvanian folktale.

Designed for children who are learning German, the performance brings theatre closer to them by being presented directly in kindergartens and primary schools.

At the heart of the story are two fairies, Fimi (Enikő Blénessy) and Sibi (Aida Olaru), who are very good friends but find themselves arguing just before the performance begins: who will play the wolf? Once this dilemma is resolved, the story can begin.

The wolf is hungry and sets out in search of animals to catch and eat. A foal, some ducks, piglets and other animals cross his path. But his would-be victims turn out to be cleverer than he expected. With flattering words and a few little tricks, the animals manage to outsmart him each time and escape his clutches.

The project was funded in 2026 by the Ministry of Culture and Innovation of Hungary, as part of a collaboration between the German State Theatre Timișoara, Deutsche Bühne Ungarn in Szekszárd, and the “Radu Stanca” National Theatre in Sibiu.
