The showcase of the German State Theater Timișoara and the Hungarian State Theater "Csiky Gergely" in Timișoara presents the best productions of the past seasons.

The German State Theater Timișoara (GSTT) and the Hungarian State Theater "Csiky Gergely" (HST) in Timișoara join forces to offer the public an exceptional microstagiune.

The event, which highlights the most acclaimed productions from the repertoire of the past years, celebrates cultural diversity and artistic performance and brings to Timișoara theater critics, managers and curators of the most renowned theater festivals in Europe. During the showcase, which will take place from January 30 to February 3, spectators will have the opportunity to discover seven performances, which will reflect the high artistic level of the two theaters.

The showcase starts on Thursday, January 30, at 19.30, with "Cloud Tectonics", directed by László Bocsárdi, a performance of the German Theatre about the magic of the closeness between two lonely people, which transcends the boundaries of time.

The performance will be followed by the inaugural speeches by the two directors of the theaters in the venue. The Showcase continues on Friday, January 31 at 7.30pm with "The Son" directed by Mădălin Hîncu, an overwhelming story about family, loss and mental health. On February 1 at 11.00, the first children's show, "A Christmas Carol" directed by Tania Drăghici, a GSTT production, will take place at 11.00.

The most complex performance of the Hungarian Theatre will take place on Saturday, February 1, from 4 p.m. in the building of the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, Calea Ghirodei 32. Directed by Tomi Janežič, "1978" is a transgenerational, sometimes psychedelic docufiction, based on the personal stories of the actors and the director.

The German Theater's performance of "The Dragon", directed by Yuri Kordonsky, will take place on Sunday, February 2, at 19.30. The story of the dragon has the form of a fairy tale and the content of a parable, and speaks about the dangers of dictatorship in contemporary society. The only puppet show of the season, Mother Badu's Children (HST), directed by Varsányi Péter, casts a glimmer of hope on the future of humanity and depicts unconditional love.

The performance will take place on Monday, February 3 at 10.00 and can be enjoyed by all ages. The last event of the season will be "Danaos", staged by director-choreographer Szabó Kristóf. The Hungarian Theatre production will take place on Monday, February 3, at 19:30. The show tells the hallucinatory story of the Danaids, based on the text by Aeschylus.

The showcase promises an unforgettable theatrical experience that will reaffirm the bond between the two minority theaters and provide a platform for artistic dialog between communities.

Each performance will be followed by discussions with the audience, moderated by critic Claudiu Groza. The performances will be translated into Romanian and English and the discussions will take place in Romanian, with English, German and Hungarian with voice-overs.
