The Price of Gold is a moving performance-testimony about the coming-of-age of a child who grew up dreaming of becoming a champion in dance sports. A child for whom the bodies of the dancers he watched represented rigor, discipline, freedom and courage. A child who found his liberating power in the expressiveness of dance.

The biography takes on socio-political relevance and opens up a framework for reflection on acute issues: heightened competition, fear of failure, the pressure of success, the need for constant validation, bullying, the defeats of parents who need their children's success more than anything else, the unspoken violence in dance sport, class differences.

In The Price of Gold, Eugen Jebeleanu returns to the dance hall, to the bench where it all began. Remembrance is a transformative act that gives fragility the strength to move on.
